It is a remarkable fact that the Buddha never addressed the so-called “chakra system”.
In fact, he did:
The energy of mettā (love / goodwill) goes to the heart (and thus is sent most naturally from there).
The energy of karuṇā (compassion) goes to the throat.
The energy of muditā (sympathetic joy) goes to the brow.
The energy of upekkhā (equanimity) goes to the crown.
In order to develop these, craving, aversion, and delusion must be attenuated:
The energy of adosa (non-aversion) goes to the base chakra.
The energy of alobha (non-craving) goes to the second chakra.
The energy of amoha (non-delusion) goes to the solar plexus.
In developing these qualities, one develops the chakras.
manopubbaṅgamā dhammā.
Working with these seven energies together, one has, in effect, a “Buddhist Chakra System”.
